100% new - not remanufactured!. Special pinion shaft threads and extended jackshaft bolt allow for a wider range of applications. Starters feature oversize clutch rollers, cold headed steel idler gears and armature hairpins that are resistance-fused to the armature. 1.4kW is a new replacement unit for stock and slightly modified engines; generates more power than the OEM stock starter. OEM Hitachi starters for pre-89 Big Twin measure 5-1/4". OEM Prestolite starters for pre-89 Big Twin measure 6".. For optimum performance, use with Drag Specialties battery and battery cables.. Starter motor design is more compact than the original and does not require the rear bracket. Because of the higher output, 4-gauge cables are recommended for this starter..

  • Returns & exchanges

    All returns must be shipped back to our store 30 days from purchase to:

    Trails-North Powersports 200 E. Lead St. Bessemer, Mi. 49911 at the purchasers expense.

    All returns must be returned unused, without any evidence of damage and in the original packaging.

    Parts with defects from the manufacturer will be exchanged after we have received and inspected the issues in question. Shipping return costs will be reimbursed to the purchaser after the defective part has been returned and deemed to be a factory defect. There is a 20% restocking fee that will be deducted on all returned non defective merchandise.
